Connecticut Public Benefit Funds for Energy Efficiency

Connecticut’s restructuring legislation created an energy conservation fund for energy efficiency programs, funded by a charge on all electricity sold by the state's two IOUs. Spending for low-income energy efficiency programs totaled about $12 million in 2010, mostly through the low-income weatherization network. The low- income programs offer weatherization, energy efficient lighting, domestic hot water measures, heating system repairs and replacement of high energy use refrigerators to income-eligible households.
