CURRENT PROGRAMS
Energy Efficiency
  • Arkansas Weatherization Program (AWP)
    • A partnership between seven investor-owned utilities, the Arkansas Community Action Agencies Association, the Arkansas Energy Office, and the Central Arkansas Development Council.
    • Available to customers of AWP Utilities whose homes meet criteria related to age and energy inefficiency. Part of the service cost is paid for by the utility and the balance is paid by the customer. If a low-income customer is eligible for the U.S. Department of Energy's WAP (at or below 200% FPG), their co-pay is covered by the federal program.
    • Services include:ceiling, floor, wall insulation, air infiltration reduction, window replacement and storm window installation, heating and air conditioning replacement, water heater insulation jackets and pipe-wrap, refrigerator replacement, CFL retrofits, direct vent heaters and smart thermostats.

  • Electric: Empire District, Entergy Arkansas, Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company, and Southwestern Electric Power Company
  • Gas: Arkansas Oklahoma Gas Corporation, CenterPoint Energy Arkansas Gas, and SourceGas Arkansas

Funding Mechanism
"Energy Efficiency Cost Rate Riders" applied to all customers' bills of participating utilities. These funds are used in conjunction with any WAP funding allocated to Arkansas.
Administration
Participating utilities contract with the Central Arkansas Development Council to administer the program.
