April 7, 2016—The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently announced a release of an additional $335.5 million in funds for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The second funding release, in addition to the first release of $3.05 billion in October 2015, brings the total LIHEAP funding to $3.39 billion for federal Fiscal Year 2016.
