May 4, 2020 – The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) is issuing a supplemental, emergency payment to Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) participants and heating source vendors. The supplemental payment is to offset bulk fuel expenses from the current program year.
Linda Watts, Commissioner of DHHR’s Bureau for Children and Families, said, “This payment is another effort to help West Virginia’s low-income families offset additional costs incurred during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
This one-time payment should be released and received by customers by the end of May. An application or a termination notice is not required in order to receive the emergency payment.
