$15 Million Released in Fourth and Final Round of FY 2023 Funding

August 9, 2023 — The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Community Services (OCS), Division of Energy Assistance (DEA), has announced a fourth and final round of funding for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) in federal Fiscal Year 2023, which ends September 30, 2023.

The $15 million represents the final amount of funding appropriated by Congress under the Department of Health and Human Services Appropriations Act, 2023 (Division H of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023 (Public Law 117-328)]. The Act was signed into law by the President on December 29, 2022. As of August 9, OCS has allocated 100 percent of the LIHEAP funding available.
