December 21, 2018 – Duke Energy is providing $600,000 in winter assistance funds to its qualifying customers this year. $500,000 of that is contributed through Duke Energy’s Helping Hand Program. $93,000 has been raised by Duke Energy customers and employees through November.
“Last year, we were able to help approximately 4,340 Hoosiers who needed assistance paying their electricity bills,” said Stan Pinegar, President of Duke Energy Indiana.
The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority’s Energy Assistance Program, Duke Energy and the Indiana Community Action Association work together to determine eligibility and distribute the company’s assistance funds.
