Ameren MO Voluntarily Suspends Disconnections Through Jan 1

December 18, 2020 – Ameren Missouri is voluntarily suspending the utility disconnections for their customers until January 1, 2021. Officials from Ameren encourage customers to still pay their utility bills to avoid large debts next year when disconnect protections are lifted.

The Cold Weather Rule is in effect in Missouri, which protects customers from service disconnections when temperatures drop below freezing. The rule includes options for customers to make additional payment arrangement with their provider.

Disconnect policies vary from state-to-state. Some are based on temperature(s), and others are based on dates. To learn more about disconnect policies in your area, visit the LIHEAP Clearinghouse Disconnect Policies web page.
