December 11, 2020 – The Ohio Development Services Agency (ODSA) is now helping low -income households pay their winter heating bills through the Home Energy Winter Crisis Assistance program. From November 1, 2019 to May 31, 2020, the program has assisted more than 2,600 low-income households pay their energy bills.
The program assists eligible applicants pay their heating bills, test fuel tanks, repair furnaces and assist in fuel-tank replacement. To qualify for the Winter Crisis Program, a household must meet the eligibility requirements of having a gross income at or below the 175 percent of the federal poverty guidelines.
The program operates from November 1 to March 31, 2021.
