March 1, 2019 – Rhode Island’s Keep the Heat On program has received a donation of $100,000 from the National Grid Foundation. This is the sixth donation to Keep the Heat On from National Grid in the past six years, totaling $565,000.
“We are pleased to again be able to help our neighbors by supporting Keep the Heat On. For the sixth year in a row, this partnership helps connect people with emergency heating assistance when they need it most,” said Edward White, Executive Director of the National Grid Foundation. “I hope that this generous gift will inspire other members of our community to continue their support of this vital program.”
Since 2005, the Keep the Heat On program has raised over $3.06 million and assisted 13,805 households. This winter alone, Keep the Heat On has assisted over 730 Rhode Island households at a cost of $130,000.
