December 31, 2014—In the latest edition of the LIHEAP Clearinghouse's newsletter, the lead article highlights a few state LIHEAP heating programs, how enrollment deadlines are targeted to vulnerable households, the status of available funds and concerns about long lines at intake sites.
The second article reports on the Clearinghouse's compilation of the 2013 totals for ratepayer-funded energy assistance and energy efficiency programs. These funds provided more than $4 billion for low-income programs — over $3.29 billion for energy assistance and over $778 million for energy efficiency. Updated narratives about these programs and how they are funded are also available on the website.
