January 18, 2019 – The Economic Opportunity Agency in Arkansas currently has funds available to help low-income residents in Northwest Arkansas with their utility bills. The assistance is offered through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
The EOA will be providing assistance to qualifying Fayetteville households that heat their homes with electricity, gas or wood. To view the required documents to apply for LIHEAP in Arkansas, as well as the benefit matrix used to calculate household benefits, visit Washington County’s Economic Opportunity Agency website.
“We want to make sure we get the word out to households that have the elderly, disabled members because this program will help keep their homes warm during these winter months,” said Delia Anderson-Farmer, Washington County’s Economic Opportunity Agency Executive Director. “The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is vital for a lot of households particularly during extreme times of the year, such as the winter.”
In Arkansas, the program is available every year in January.
