OH Summer Crisis Assistance Program Begins July 1

June 19, 2020 – Ohio will begin providing crisis assistance to low-income households through the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) on July 1. The Ohio Summer Crisis Program assists eligible Ohioans pay for utility bills and air conditioning units and repairs.

“We’re working with The Adams Brown Counties Economic Opportunities Inc. every day to help Ohioans in need,” said Lydia Mihalik, director of the Ohio Development Services Agency. “we’ve extended the length of the program and expanded eligibility requirements so we can help more Ohioans during this health crisis.”

Customers of regulated utilities are eligible for up to $500 in assistance and customers of unregulated utilities are eligible for up to $800 in assistance.
