FL Housing Services Offers Walk-in Assistance for Utility Payments

March 6, 2020 – Florida’s Citrus County Housing Services will now be accepting walk-in energy assistance applications. The walk-in appointment will be available Mondays, March 16 and March 30, at the Citrus County Resource Center. Utility assistance applications are generally only accepted by appointment, due to the demand for utility assistance ion Citrus County.

The assistance available is for both crisis utility payments and regular utility payments. Crisis assistance is available only if the household is delinquent in their utility bills, received a shut-off notice, is without power and has not received crisis assistance in the past year. A household can receive up to $600 for crisis assistance in Citrus County.

Regular LIHEAP assistance in Citrus County includes a benefit of up to $150 to $300 per household. A household is ineligible if they have received assistance in the past year. Walk-in applicants are encouraged to bring required documentation prior to their appointment. Contact the Citrus County Resource Center for details.
