MA’s Fuel Assistance Program in Full Swing

November, 20, 2020 – The Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) Fuel Assistance Program in Massachusetts is now in full swing, helping thousands of low-income households pay their utility bills. In 2019, the program assisted more than 25,000 households in paying their utility bills.

“Home heating assistance is vital to keeping disadvantaged individuals, elders, and families healthy,” said John Drew, president of MA’s ABCD program, “It keeps them safe. Too many would otherwise opt for dangerous alternatives such as space heaters or ovens.”

The application period for the ABCD program started on November 1 and lasts until April 30. The maximum benefit amount is currently $600.
