Maryland Public Benefit Funds for Energy Efficiency

  • Maryland 's restructuring legislation, which was passed in April 1999, provided a $34 million Electric Universal Service Program (EUSP) to be administered by the Department of Human Resources ( DHR ) through the Maryland Energy Assistance Program. The EUSP provides $1 million for weatherization and that amount is transferred annually to the Department of Housing and Community Development, the state's weatherization grantee.
