December 1, 2017 – Chatham County Georgia is accepting applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program starting Friday, December 1. The first LIHEAP appointments in Chatham County will be available by December 5. Eligible applicants will receive a direct payment to their utility vendor for their determined benefit amount.
Georgia’s eligibility guidelines require an applicant to be less than or equal to sixty percent of the median income for a Georgian household.
It is suggested that applicants bring the following documents when applying for LIHEAP: 1) their most recent utility bill 2) Social Security Cards for each member of the household 3) Proof of citizenship for each household member 4) Proof that a household member receives TANF or SNAP and 5) Proof of income for the last thirty days for each adult in the household.
