February 28, 2020 – Connecticut’s Operation Fuel, United Illuminating and The Connecticut Association for Community Action will be hosting an outreach event to raise awareness about energy assistance programs. The event will take place March 3, in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about energy efficiency programs, energy assistance payment arrangements, winter-service protection and other energy assistance related topics. Staff members from community action agencies, United Illuminating and Operation Fuel will be available for questions during the sessions.
State LIHEAP grantees conduct outreach activities through their own offices, through their local administrative agencies (LAAs), or both. Many allow their LAAs to spend a certain amount of their LIHEAP funds for outreach. States may also utilize other state and local agencies and nonprofits that provide human services to help make their clients aware of LIHEAP. Some states work in partnership with their utilities, local agencies, and other entities to publicize LIHEAP.
