October 4, 2013 — The latest edition of the LIHEAP Clearinghouse's newsletter. The lead article highlights a few of the LIHEAP heating programs that are up and running, including ones that have multiple enrollment deadlines to reach targeted constituencies.
The Clearinghouse also used the newsletter to release its new compilation of ratepayer-funded energy assistance and energy efficiency totals for 33 states and the District of Columbia during 2012. The total for rate assistance programs was over $3 billion, while energy efficiency provided by ratepayers came in at over $690 million. The compilation includes a chart providing a quick summary of each state's programs, along with a longer narrative that provides a history of the programs.
